When you’re feeling lonely

If you're feeling lonely.

Caregiving can be feeling lonely. You may be restricted to your home, with little opportunity to get out and interact with others. If your loved one, like my father, becomes unable to speak or respond to you, it is easy to feel quite alone. But God is omnipresent — he is with us at all hours of the day and night (and sometimes nights are the most difficult). All we have to do is reach out, and God will be there.

Psalm 46:2 confirms this sentiment: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” We always have a great God who is beside us in every situation of our life.

He is the anchor of our boat and he never allows any situation to sink us.

If you are feeling lonely, remember that God loves you. He is aware of loneliness. When the Father abandoned Jesus on the cross, he felt the most alone of all. God is aware and concerned.
