good morning god's kingdom is at hand
you are not alone it is
well feeling appreciated or appreciation
can go a long way towards not only
accepting a stressful situation
but enjoying a life form studies show
that
caregivers who feel appreciated
experience
greater physical and emotional health
caregiving actually makes them happier
and healthier despite it demands
but what can you do if the person you
are caring for no longer able to feel or
show their appreciation all the time and
the effort that you put into caring for
them
what do you do do imagine how your loved
one would respond
if they were healthy if they weren't
preoccupied with with
the illness or pain or disability
or disabled by dementia
how would your loved one feel about the
love and the care
you are giving them remind yourself
that the person would express gratitude
if they were only able to do so
do remember applaud
your efforts and thank god for the
ability of
efforts made if you are not getting
external validation
find ways to acknowledge and reward
yourself
remind yourself of how much you are
helping if you need something more
concrete
try making a list of all the ways
your caregiving is making a difference
and it is making a difference you are
making a great
deal of difference to the person of whom
you
are caring for is life refer back
to it when you start to feel low or
unappreciated
or more so downhill so to speak
do talk to supportive family members and
friends
positive reinforcement doesn't have to
come from the person you are caring for
when you're feeling unappreciated turn
to friends and family
who will listen to you and acknowledge
your efforts
you yes you
are not alone caregiving is a call to
duty
that is often goes unrecognized
unfortunately
but you are making a great difference a
great deal of difference to the person
you are caring for
is life without you
where would they be without the things
you have in place
where would they be you
and you alone are making this great deal
of difference to their lives
whether you feel appreciated or not
you know that you're making writing and
always have that
at the back of you you're doing a great
job
and i do thank god for you without you
god only knows where they will be
god bless
