Emmanuel is with us.

These are difficult times. Because of the pandemic, some of you may have been furloughed or lost your work. You may have feelings of numbness, anxiety, depression, or loneliness. You may not know how you will pay your rent, and you may be unable to see your loved ones in person owing to COVID limitations. Grief is a part of these losses.

We've heard in the news that some people are expressing their final goodbyes via an Ipad held by a nurse. When a loved one died, family members were unable to be present.

Can we rely on God's assurance that He is in charge? Yes, the Bible declares that His wonderful name is above other names...

Exodus 3:14

“I am who I am,” God said to Moses. And he said, "Say to the Israelites, 'I am has sent me to you.'"

If you are frightened and nervous, I AM sought to bring you peace.

If you are fatigued, I AM want to carry your burden and provide you with rest.

Whatever you require today, Jesus desires to be your "need-meeter."

If we are not present with our loved ones when they die, it may appear that they die alone—however, our crucified and shattered God gave up His Spirit so that they would not be alone. There is no death we can experience if Jesus does not hold us in His arms. The Risen Christ rejoices with those who rejoice and laments with those who lament.

Be patient and persevere. Keep in mind that Emmanuel is with us.
